On June 11, 2023, Mr. Sicioldr talked to Stuyvesant students about his artistic journey, the inspiration behind his artwork, and his working process. Originally from Tuscania, Italy, Alessandro Bianchi Sicioldr’s work has been described as drawing inspiration from Surrealism in its use of irrationality and the subconscious. Other than Surrealist themes, his painting style garners intrigue through bold and mysterious figures that are the focus of the scenes he depicts. Although the colors, shapes, and style of these scenes are reminiscent of the familiar style of oil paintings of the Renaissance, the overall composition leaves a feeling of something more Modernistic.
